There are no specific prerequisites for admission, but the Admissions Committee does expect that all applicants will exhibit critical thinking and analytical abilities and communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills. Most students who have completed introductory courses in college-level calculus and statistics find that they are adequately prepared to meet the quantitative demands of the program.
During the summer, Vanderbilt offers an optional Online Math Review for incoming MBA students who want additional preparation and an Online Statistics Review. Students with little or no business background might also find helpful a course in basic finance, accounting, and economic principles.
Incoming students should possess basic computer skills, including proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet, database, presentation, email, and Internet software. The Vanderbilt MBA program supports Windows XP Professional, Microsoft Office Professional (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, and Internet Explorer), and Microsoft Vista.
